Welcome
to the Deaf Program at Tampa Bay Academy!
Deafprogram.com is the gateway to the many programs and services provided by Tampa Bay Academy to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adolescents. Deaf and Hard of Hearing children experience the same social and emotional problems that exist for hearing children and children from other cultures. These experiences are exacerbated by limited access to professionals who are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and sensitive to the cultural differences of Deaf individuals.
Tampa Bay Academy offers residential treatment, therapeutic group home services and a day treatment program specifically designed for children and adolescents who have psychiatric and/or behavioral problems. The Deaf Program at Tampa Bay Academy was the first psychiatric treatment program in Florida to offer services for Deaf children and adolescents and remains one of only a few in the entire country. The Deaf Program has been serving Deaf children and adolescents from all over the United States for over a decade. At Tampa Bay Academy, children receive therapeutic services in a JCAHO accredited mental health environment. Children receive educational services in our SACS accredited public charter school located on the grounds of Tampa Bay Academy.
See www.tampabay-academy.com for information on all of our programs and services.
